16 years later, he was referred by the Municipal Chairman of Thiruverkadu. Kannan, now over 50 years was in a horrible condition. Both his feet were swollen. His fingers had developed gangrene and he had already lost one finger. He was unable to move. He was brought to Dignity, where he was given a bath, shave and first- aid. He was later admitted to M.R. Hospital and brought back to Dignity. The Rehabilitation of Kannan is one of the wonders of Udavum Karangal. He now looks after the cows in Shanthivanam.
